PEER SUPPORT
Peer support is a one-hour session that offers consumers the opportunity to give and receive support for issues that are currently affecting their lives. Topics covered during the biweekly sessions are self-care tips, how to empower yourself and your disability, navigating relationships, and much more. Our Peer Support staff members are people with disabilities who have encountered their own personal challenges and can offer encouragement and guidance to others. The group meets twice a month and is made up of adults.

Youth Peer Support is directed to help youth with disabilities find support from their peers by discussing
different topics chosen by the youth. The group meets once a month for an hour and is made up of
middle and high school students.

Please check our events page for details including the date and time for peer support and youth peer support.
Join us virtually for peer support every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm during the month of April. We will be using Zoom in order to connect with our consumers and discuss real-life situations that are affecting them. From there, we will talk through these pressing issues and how others have handled the same or similar things in the past. This is a peer-led activity facilitated by staff members that have disabilities themselves.
For more information regarding these sessions and how to access them, please contact your coordinator by calling (806) 374-1400.
